A tent at 9 p.m. in July is a greenhouse with a mattress. Ventilation helps, a site with airflow helps more — but the difference between a miserable night and a decent one is usually a fan moving air across your body. 3. Airflow — CFM, if they publish it
Most listings don’t publish CFM (cubic feet per minute), which tells you something. As a proxy: blade diameter and speed settings matter more than marketing watts. A 9-inch hanging fan on low typically out-moves a 4-inch clip fan on maximum.
